What is #GivingTuesday?
Giving Tuesday, often stylized as #GivingTuesday for purposes of hashtag activism, refers to the Tuesday after U.S. Thanksgiving in the United States. It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. Giving Tuesday was started in 2012 by the 92nd Street Y and the United Nations Foundation as a response to commercialization and consumerism in the post-Thanksgiving season.
Unlike Black Friday, Small Business Saturday & Cyber Monday the shopping holiday serves charities and non profits. There are thousands of non profits in the US that focus on many different issues in the community. Our team at Prediq Media has always been purpose driven. Our CEO, Alex Oliveira, has been working with non profits since 2000. He has served on dozens of Boards and Committees throughout the years. We give to nonprofits all year round. Below is a list of our favorite non profit organizations. Please visit their website by clicking on the name and make a donation on Giving Tuesday.
